It has been revealed that the third chapter of the all-new film trilogy, "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3: Snake God," Mononoke , " will be released on May 29, 2026. The trilogy is set in the Ooku, a hidden women's garden shrouded in mystery and ulterior motives, and will conclude with the third chapter. A teaser visual has been released, depicting a medicine seller dripping with blood and wearing torn clothes, holding a new exorcism tool, a mirror, as he falls into a mysterious dimension. The third chapter centers on the core figures of the Ooku, including the Tenshi, the highest-ranking ruler of the world, her wife, Empress Sachiko, and Hokuto Mizorogi, and uncovers the "greatest secret" that has long been hidden within the Ooku. As the medicine seller gazes upon the truth behind the birth of the Ooku and the heartbreaking yet intense emotions that intertwine across time, the most terrifying Mononoke in the series appears, shaking the Ooku to its very core. At the end of the battle, an unimaginable development and a spectacular finale await.
It was also announced that Miyuki Sawashiro will be joining the cast. Sawashiro will play the Third Empress, who was the wife of the third emperor 150 years ago. She commented, "I'm Miyuki Sawashiro, and I voiced the Third Empress. ...If she had been born in a different era, if she had grown up in a different environment, I'm sure she would have become a completely different person... "Mononoke" is an anime produced by the reunion of the staff who worked on the popular episode "Bakeneko" of "Ayakashi," which aired on Fuji TV's anime slot "Noitamina" in 2006, and was broadcast on Noitamina in 2007.
