To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the broadcast of the TV anime "Gamba's Adventures" which was aired in 1975, it has been announced that the theatrical version "Adventurers: Gamba and His Seven Friends" will be screened again at Aeon Cinemas and other cinemas nationwide from January Getsuku, 2026.
"Gamba's Adventure" is based on a children's book by Atsuo Saito, and the anime was directed by Osamu Dezaki, who also directed "Ashita no Joe" and "Aim for the Ace!" Seven adorable mice, including the hardworking Gamba, embark on a thrilling adventure across the ocean to defeat Noroi, a giant white weasel that is massacring mice. Noroi, played by Norio Otsuka, made a strong impression on viewers.
"Adventurers: Gamba and his Seven Friends" is a re-edited compilation of the TV series, with lines re-recorded by the original cast. Following the TV series, director Dezaki directed the film, focusing on the fierce battle between Noroi and Gamba and his friends.
