A public viewing and talk show for the first re-broadcast of the 2026 NHK Taiga drama "Toyotomi Brothers!" (General TV, Sunday 8:00 PM, etc.) was held at the NHK Osaka Hall on January 10th, featuring Nakano Taiga, who plays the protagonist Koichiro, and Ikematsu Sosuke, who plays Tōkichirō. Nakano said, "I previously played the role of Toyotomi Hideyori in the 2011 Taiga drama "Go: Princesses of the Warring States." I'm now playing Hidenaga in "Toyotomi Brothers!", so I feel a strong connection to the Toyotomi family, and strangely, I feel like I'm standing tall whenever I'm near Osaka Castle. I'll do my best again this time as a member of the Toyotomi family."
The event was titled "Talk Special: Taiga Drama Toyotomi Brothers! - The Beginning of Naniwa's Dream," and after watching the first re-broadcast, Nakano and Ikematsu talked about the appeal of the drama and what to look forward to in the future.
Ikematsu commented, "It's been almost a week since the first episode aired, and we've received a lot of positive feedback. We're very grateful that so many people came out today, even though it was a rebroadcast event. Seeing the people of Osaka watching right in front of me, right next to Osaka Castle, really made me realize that it's finally started. We'll do our best to make sure that everyone living in areas associated with the Toyotomi clan thinks that the weekly broadcast is a daily pleasure. We appreciate your support throughout the year."
"Toyotomi Brothers!" is the 65th taiga drama. It is a success story of hope and dreams, depicting the miracle of the Toyotomi brothers, Hidenaga (Koichiro) and his older brother Hideyoshi (Tokichiro), who achieve the great feat of unifying the country with their strong bond.
