The latest chapter of the yakuza series, "CONNECT: The Road to Conqueror 14/15," starring actors Yamamoto Yusuke and Kitadai Takashi, will be exclusively streamed on the video streaming service U-NEXT from December 5th, with the DVD set to be released on February 4th, 2026. Ahead of the release, a key visual and trailer have been released, revealing Yamamoto's character, Sawamura Ryuichi, sporting a traditional Japanese tattoo.
"CONNECT: The Road to Champion" is a story of two very different characters, Sawamura, a hot-blooded former leader of a motorcycle gang, and Kunito Soma (played by Kitashiro), a former bureaucrat and intellectual, who help each other grow as they go along. In the latest chapter, Sawamura and Soma meet Tajima, a senior from Sawamura's motorcycle gang days, who is trying to rescue his brother from the religious group "Star Ark," which is rumored to be circulating. Sawamura and Soma decide to help him. However, they become embroiled in a huge conspiracy, and one crisis after another approaches the two.
The trailer begins with a fierce battle between Iwata, the junior boss of the Jojima-gumi, a group from the Aizu Alliance that controls Fukushima, and Sawamura, and then goes on to show how the internal conflict within the Aizu Alliance escalates. It also features the mysterious religious group "Star's Ark," and the tattoo artist's words, "This doesn't suit a small-time man," along with Sawamura's determined back and face, which are tattooed in traditional Japanese style.
