The TV Asahi information program "Hatori Shinichi Morning Show" (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 9:55 AM), which began broadcasting on September 28, 2015, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on air, and it has been announced that the cast, opening theme, studio set, and logo will be renewed from September 29.
On the 22nd broadcast, Mayu Yamaguchi, a former finance ministry bureaucrat and New York lawyer who had been serving as a Monday commentator, graduated, and on the 25th broadcast, entrepreneur Anju Ishiyama, who had been serving as a Thursday commentator, graduated. New commentators joining the show on Mondays will be lawyer Sayo Saruta, and on Fridays will be lawyer Naomi Koshi, who served as mayor of Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture from 2012 to 2020.
In recent years, major news stories that shake the world, such as Trump's tariffs and the Iran airstrikes, have increasingly occurred in the morning, and with the addition of these two experts, who are well-versed in international affairs and the judiciary, the aim is to deliver the latest news in more detail and depth than anywhere else.
The opening theme, "PPP (Pi Pi Pi)," a new song by singer-songwriter Aina the End, will be played at the beginning of the program. The refreshing, fast-paced song will add a touch of glamour to the start of the program.
The studio set has been completely redesigned to embody the show's distinctive features of "friendliness" and "sharpness." The new logo is based on the show's familiar "Hatori Panel" motif.
Main Caster Shinichi Hatori commented, "Morning Show started 10 years ago. Looking back, a big thing was the introduction of the panel corner. The staff worked really hard to create this corner with the desire to explain difficult things in an easy-to-understand way, and I try to convey that desire in an even easier-to-understand way. The lively discussions among the guests based on the panels make the show more exciting. This year marks the 10th anniversary, and for the first time in a while, some of the guests will be replaced, giving the show a new look. I want to make the show more lively, easier to understand, and enjoyable than ever before."
Regular commentator Tamagawa Toru analyzed the 10th anniversary, saying, "All of the staff are working on the show every day, trying to think, 'How can we get more viewers?' I think that's the main reason the show has continued to be so popular for 10 years. I think the presence of troublesome 'villains' like myself, (Nagashima) Kazushige, and (Ishihara) Yoshizumi, in contrast to Hatori, who is a well-liked and 'good guy,' has also livened up the studio (laughs). All three of us don't just say obvious things, but rather we comment on things that are right on the edge, which I think has also contributed to the show's appeal."
