The series has announced that starting in 2026, the maximum number of episodes aired per year will be 26. The "Egghead Arc," which is currently reaching its climax, will conclude by the end of the year, and the series will take a break from broadcasting from January to March 2026 as a recharge period. After this recharge period, a new chapter, the "Elbaf Arc," will begin airing.
It was also announced that a mini-animation based on a new project called "CHOPPER's" starring Tony Tony Chopper will be produced. It will be broadcast on Fuji TV's morning information program "Mezamashi TV" (Monday to Friday, 5:25 AM) from January 5, 2026. It will be broadcast every Monday at around 7:36 AM.
"ONE PIECE" depicts the adventures of Luffy, a young man with a straw hat whose limbs are stretchy like rubber, as he and his crew embark on an adventure across the ocean in pursuit of becoming the Pirate King. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) in 1997. The comics have sold over 510 million copies worldwide. The TV anime series began airing in 1999, and October 2024 marked the 25th anniversary of its broadcast. In April of this year, the broadcast time slot was moved from 9:30 AM on Sundays to 11:15 PM on Sundays.
