It has been announced that a second season of the TV anime " Gachiakuta, " based on the manga by Kei Urana currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be produced. The 24th episode, "Field Trip," which is the final episode of the first season, was broadcast late at night on December 21st on the CBC TV/TBS anime slot "Agaru Anime," and the production of the second season was announced. A celebratory illustration by the original author Urana and graffiti design artist Hideyoshi Ando has been released.
It was also announced that "Gachiakuta" will be adapted for the stage and performed in 2026. In addition to Imamachi Teruru playing the main character, Ludo, the cast will include Tachibana Yudai as Engine, Fukuzawa Yu as Zanka, Hoshinami as Ryo, Isono Dai as Corvus, Aono Saho as Semi, Satochu Masamichi as Tamzee, Arai Masaru as Delmon, Terayama Takeshi as Gris, Soma Yui as Amo, Nanase Rensai as Remlin, and Tanaka Ryosei as Jabbar. The key visual and promotional video have been released. The play will run from May 22 to 31, 2026, at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball (Minato Ward, Tokyo) and from June 5 to 7, 2026, at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto South Hall (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City).
It was also announced that the game will be adapted into a survival action RPG called "Gachiakuta The Game (tentative title)" and will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam.
"Gachiakuta" has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" since February 2022. Hideyoshi Ando is in charge of the graffiti design. The story follows Rudo, an orphan boy born in a slum where the descendants of criminals live. He makes a living using his extraordinary physical abilities, but one day he is framed for a crime he didn't commit and thrown into the "abyss" that even the slum residents fear. The anime is directed by Fumihiko Suganuma, who also worked on "SHIROBAKO" and "THE FIRST SLAM DUNK," and produced by Bones Films, the studio behind "My Hero Academia." The series began airing in July and aired its final episode on December 21st.
