The final of the M-1 Grand Prix 2025 (ABC TV/TV Asahi), a contest to determine the best manzai comedian in Japan, was broadcast live from TV Asahi (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on December 21st, and the comedy duo "Evers" achieved high scores in the first round.
Evers, who placed fourth last year and advanced to the finals for the second consecutive year, performed their material as the fourth group in the first round. They received a score of 870 points, far exceeding the 843 points of Yarens, who was provisionally in first place. The judges also gave them rave reviews, with Hidetsugu Shibata of "Untouchables" giving them 98 points and commenting that "the composition and execution of their material was perfect."
Hanawa Nobuyuki of the comedy duo Knights, who gave the performance a score of 99, commented, "My teacher Utsumi Katsuko taught me that when it comes to manzai, you should paint a picture with your words, and past champions also had pictures in their minds. (With Evers' manzai) pictures just kept popping up. It was truly amazing!"
