Actor Kei Tanaka attended the stage greeting to commemorate the release of the movie version of Koki Mitani's "Oi, Dazai" held in Tokyo on July 11th. After bowing deeply to the audience, Tanaka said, "Thank you for taking the time to come and see us today."
The film was shot in one scene, one take, with the camera never stopping for the entire 100 minutes. Tanaka, who plays the main character, Komuro Kensaku, who has a huge number of lines, recalled, "I was constantly on the move, so I was able to stay focused relatively well," and added with a wry smile, "I was a little bothered by the sweat spurting out of me."
Regarding the amount of sweat Tanaka-san was producing during filming, her co-star Eiko Koike commented, "It was such an abnormal amount that I couldn't help but touch it."Koki Mitani jokingly said, "Actually, I was thinking of doing something to make sure that the sweat would reach the audience today as well. But it would cost a bit of money, so I couldn't," to which Tanaka replied with a wry smile, "I'm starting to sweat strangely now."
Emma Miyazawa, Zen Kajiwara, and Kenichi Matsuyama also attended the stage greeting.
This work will be released in theaters with a special video "Another Ending" included in the WOWOW drama "Drama W Koki Mitani' Oi, Dazai'," which Mitani wrote and directed. This is the third installment of the "One-scene, one-shot drama" series, and the first new work in 12 years. Set on the seaside, this time-slip comedy unfolds as an ordinary man who admires Dazai Osamu struggles through the ages.
