Natsumi Ebata (Yoshine) and Masaru Taki (Kyouya Honda) deepen their feelings at Natsumi's parents' house. The night they return home, they share a bed together.
The next morning, Natsumi is filled with embarrassment as she remembers what happened last night and is distracted from preparing dinner. The miso soup is too salty, and she fails to prepare any of the rice or side dishes. Meanwhile, Takimasa is also not at peace as he remembers what happened last night. One day, as the end of the year approached, Ikuko Shibahara (Emi Wakui) suggested that Natsumi ask Takita to help with the general cleaning, but Natsumi was unable to ask him.
Natsumi, who was trying to put away a heavy baggage on a stepladder, lost her balance and nearly dropped it. At that moment, Takimasa caught the baggage and said, "You're family, so please rely on us."
A few days later, Natsumi and her friends have a mochi-pounding party at their house, and Fumiko Yoshimori (Maika Yamamoto) and Ryunosuke Fukami (Yuta Koseki) come to visit. Natsumi, who wants to mediate between Fumiko and Fukami, asks them to go shopping for sake together.
On the way to buy groceries, Fumiko and Fukami witness a boy stealing apples from a greengrocer's. Fumiko pays for the apples on the boy's behalf. As the boy tries to run away, Fukami shows a surprising side of himself...
The story is based on the manga of the same name by Nishika Hachi, which is currently being serialized on Kodansha's manga app Comic Days. It depicts the love story that begins in 1936, when Natsumi, who was proposed to and married on "zero days of dating," and Imperial Navy lieutenant Takitaka Ebata begin their married life together.
