Music producer Tetsuya Komuro appeared at the DMM.com short drama release announcement event held in Tokyo recently. It was announced that Komuro will be the general producer of the featured works of the new service "DMM Shorts," which will be launched at 11:00 a.m. on June 2nd. There was also a moment when he confessed his true feelings, saying, "I don't want to fall into obscurity."
The story of the film was also revealed on the day. The story is an entertainment success story of rebirth and counterattack, about a former composer who once dominated the world of commercial songs but is now on the rocks, who works with girls on the brink of failure in the underground idol industry to regain their self-worth and hope through the power of music.
DMM.com COO Yusuke Muranaka expressed surprise when he first heard the plot, saying, "I thought it was a success story! I had the image of him always being at the top." Komuro humbly replied, "It's completely different."
Komuro continued, "I don't want to fall into disrepute as much as possible," laughing as he revealed his true feelings, explaining, "Times are changing, and I wonder if I'm outdated? But I wanted to create something that makes people think, maybe I can do a bit more." He revealed that his own thoughts are "partly in it" for the protagonist, a former composer.
The title of the series has yet to be decided, but it is scheduled to be released this fall. There will be 30 episodes in total, each less than three minutes long.
