During a live broadcast, Sakikubo ( Mei Nagano) said to Shindo (Abe), "I don't recognize you as a journalist." After the broadcast, Sakikubo and Kaiba (Takashi Okabe), the head of the news bureau, went to apologize to Kunisada (Hideki Takahashi), the chairman of JBN.
Kaiba reported, "This time, Sakikubo acted on his own initiative and did something that tarnished the reputation of 'Newsgate' that the chairman had built." Sakikubo bowed his head and said, "I'm sorry."
Sakikubo revealed that Keisuke Kawashima (Takashi Yamanaka) was his father. Kunisada praised Sakikubo, saying, "Do you know what you did? You sold out your real father. You used your father to make Shindo-kun regret his actions. No, I'm not blaming you. On the contrary, I'm happy. You need that kind of determination to challenge Soichi Shindo."
Outside the room, Nabeta was listening to Sakikubo and the others' conversation.
In the fifth episode from the week before last, Shindo called out to Nabeta. He showed a photo of Komai (Yasui Junpei), the head of the social affairs department, who was an insider, purposely throwing documents in a trash can and asked, "Is this you?" Nabeta denied it, saying, "I don't know," attracting attention.
On social media, comments such as, "Hikorohi is becoming more mysterious with each episode," "I hope Hikorohi is someone who often makes meaningful faces but has no particular connection to the story," "Who is Hikorohi? Is he an informant hired by Shindo?" and "It's about time Hikorohi's true identity is revealed" were spreading.
