The 42nd episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " starring Mio Imada (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 am and others) was broadcast on May 27th, and viewers' attention was drawn to Takashi ( Takumi Kitamura ) expressing his regret for the sudden death of Hiroshi ( Yutaka Takenouchi ).
In episode 42, the Yanai family is in mourning after Hiroshi's death. Chiyoko ( Naho Toda) invites Nobu (Imada) and Hatako (Noriko Eguchi), who came to pay her respects, to a toast. "Yam-onchan" Kusakichi (Sadao Abe) gives Nobu, who has just returned home, an Anpan(sweet bean bun) to take to Takashi.
Meanwhile, Taku is sitting alone on a seesaw in a vacant lot. Memories of Hiroshi come back to him one after another, and he begins to shed tears. Nobu gently offers him an Anpan(sweet bean bun) and comforts him. Taku confesses, "If I had come home earlier...I could have seen my uncle. But I didn't make it in time. I really had to...finish my painting. My graduation painting. I felt that if I didn't finish it...I wouldn't be able to see my uncle. It's because you were my uncle who listened to my selfish requests and let me go to school."
When Taku said, "I was never able to express any gratitude for raising you," Nobu replied, "I'm sure Professor Hiroshi will understand how you feel. Even if you can't see each other, I'm sure he'll understand. Professor Hiroshi understood you better than anyone."
Takami expressed his regret, "I was...a bad son until the very end. When I came to that house, I somehow...I was some strange stubbornness and never once called my uncle ``Dad.'' I guess I'll never be able to see him again. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Dad. Dad...''
Nobu smiled gently and, holding back tears, said, "I'm sure Hiroshi-sensei is very happy. Taku has finally called you 'Dad'. I'm sure... he'll be smiling with those gentle eyes. And he'll say, 'I'm glad I finished the painting.'" Taku's expression softened and he thanked him, saying, "Thank you, Nobu-chan."
