The 42nd episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on May 27th, and viewers were drawn to the interaction between Nobu (Imada) and Takashi ( Takumi Kitamura).
In episode 42, the Yanai family is in mourning after Hiroshi (Yutaka Takenouchi) passes away. Chiyoko (Naho Toda) invites Nobu (Imada) and Hatako (Noriko Eguchi), who came to pay her respects, to a toast. "Yam-onchan" Kusakichi (Sadao Abe) gives Nobu, who has just returned home, an anpan (sweet bean bun) to take to Takashi.
Meanwhile, Taku is sitting alone on a seesaw in a vacant lot. Hiroshi's words come to his mind one after another, and he begins to shed tears. Nobu gently offers him an Anpan(sweet bean bun) and comforts him. Taku expresses his regrets, saying, "If only I had come home earlier...I could have seen my uncle," "This is a picture I made for my graduation. I thought I'd never be able to see my uncle until I finished it," "I never got to call you Dad," and "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Dad."
When Nobu says, "I'm sure Professor Hiroshi is very happy. That Taku has finally called him Dad," Taku thanks Nobu. When Nobu says, "You're my oldest friend," Taku, who had resolved to tell Nobu how he feels after completing his graduation project, has a complicated expression on his face and begins to say, "There's something I've always wanted to tell you. I..." but then says, "No, after all. Just like you said, Nobu-chan is my oldest friend. I hope we'll continue to be friends," and in the end is unable to tell Nobu how he feels.
Regarding Takashi's failure to confess his feelings to Nobu, comments on social media included, "Takashi started to say it but ended up stopping. How many times do you want me to make him say it? That's not nice!", "Takashi must have had people all over Japan saying, 'He's not going to say it!'", "He declares himself to be friends! What a coward!", "Nobu sees Takashi as a friend. It's good that he stopped", and "You can't say it if he's already been told he's your friend."
