On May 26th, it was revealed that the TV drama series "Kyoujou" starring actor Takuya Kimura will be adapted into a movie. Kimura, director Nakae Isao, and screenwriter Kimizuka Ryoichi, who created the series, will reunite. The movie is scheduled to be released in 2026.
The mystery novel series "Kyojo" by Hiroki Nagaoka, which realistically depicts the reality of police academies, has sold over 1.3 million copies. "Kyojo" (2020) and "Kyojo II" (2021) were broadcast as Fuji TV's New Year's special dramas, and the appearance of the strict instructor, Kimichika Kazama (Kimura), with his gray hair and prosthetic right eye, also attracted attention.
In "Kyojo" and "Kyojo II", Kazama saw through the various doubts, conflicts and secrets that arose among the students with his sharp eyes, sifting through the students and submitting their withdrawal papers one by one. It will be interesting to see what kind of students will appear in the movie.
In 2023, the same network will broadcast "Kazama Koshin - Kyojo 0", a drama depicting Kazama's past, in its "Getsuku" slot. Kazama's brutal past, in which he lost his right eye and his buddy, and his connection with murderer Tozaki Haru (Mirai Moriyama) are also revealed. In the final episode of the drama, Tozaki appears before Kazama, raising expectations for the outcome of the showdown between the two.
Information such as the film title, release date, and cast will be announced at a later date.
