Actress Maika Yamamoto attended the "Heroine Make 20th Anniversary ~ Reached to the Sky ~" PR press conference held in Tokyo on April 16th. Yamamoto, who has been the brand's image character for eight years, appeared in a spring-like pink dress that revealed some skin, and looked back on the time when she first entered the entertainment industry.
Yamamoto was scouted at the age of 13 and made her debut in the entertainment industry. Things were going smoothly for her, with her being selected to appear in TV dramas and as an exclusive model for a teen fashion magazine, but she recalls, "These were hectic days."
"I couldn't imagine working with adults every day, so I think I was extremely shy at work. I was struggling to keep up, I wasn't taking any lessons, and I wasn't particularly interested in clothes, so I felt like, 'Am I really allowed to be here?' Now I of course love acting, and I also love clothes, so I guess I feel like I learned a lot," she said with a smile.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the brand's founding in 2025, "Heroine Make" will release a special movie on its official YouTube channel on April 16th, showing brand icon Elisabeth Himeko "reaching to the heavens." Products inspired by the four treasures that have been passed down for generations in the kingdom of beauty where Himeko lives will be released one after another.
