An advance tasting event for the media at the family restaurant chain Bamiyan's "Taiwan Fair" was held in Tokyo on April 16th.
The "Taiwan Exhibition" will offer four dishes on the menu, which have been jointly developed with "Xin Yeh," a famous Taiwanese restaurant that has been in business for over 40 years and is listed in the Michelin Guide. Guests can enjoy the taste of traditional, authentic Taiwanese cuisine at reasonable prices, all of which are priced at less than 1,000 yen.
The joint products include "Stir-fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts," with crispy fried chicken and a sweet and spicy soy sauce base accented with the aroma of ginger; "Stir-fried Taipei Sweet and Sour Shrimp," with the refreshing taste of fresh tomatoes and lemon juice; "Plump Shrimp Edamame Fried Rice," a traditional Taiwanese edamame fried rice; and "Daikon Mochi," packed with the delicious flavors of dried shrimp and daikon radish. "Taiwanese Tantsu Noodles," which was not jointly developed with "Shin Yeh," will also be available.
The tasting event was attended by manga artist Masayuki Kusumi, known for "Kodoku no Gourmet" and other works, and TV personality Hikomaro. Kusumi said with a smile, "It was delicious. It's twice as delicious when you eat it at the place where it was made."
The "Taiwan Exhibition" will be held from April 17th to early July. The "Daikon Mochi" is scheduled to go on sale from May 22nd.
