It has been announced that the TV anime series "Chiikawa," based on Nagano's popular manga, will suspend regular broadcasts for about three months from April in preparation for the production of a new series, and will revive episodes that have received a great response. As in the past, the series will be broadcast every Tuesday and Friday at around 7:40 am on "Mezamashi TV" (Fuji TV, Monday to Friday 5:25 am). After the broadcast, the series will be available for catch-up streaming for one week only on YouTube, TVer, and FOD. Regular broadcasts are scheduled to resume around July.
"Chiikawa Fortune Telling," which also airs Monday through Friday on "Mezamashi TV," is getting a "power-up." Until now, 10 different five-second animations have been broadcast at the end of the fortune telling, but five new animations have been added, bringing the total to 15 different animations. The broadcast time will also be changed from around 5:58 AM to around 6:58 AM. Two newly added fortune telling cuts have been revealed. From March 31st to April 3rd, new animations, including the two newly revealed cuts, will be broadcast at the end of the fortune telling.
"Chiikawa" is a manga that Nagano has been posting on X since 2020. The gap between the small and cute characters and the harsh worldview has made it popular, and X has over 3.8 million followers. The comic "Chiikawa Nanka Small and Cute" has been released by Kodansha.
The anime will begin airing on "Mezamashi TV" in April 2022. The videos published on the official Mezamashi TV YouTube channel have been viewed over 370 million times, making it a very popular series.
