It has been announced that the TV anime series "One Tatami Room Full of Life!", based on the four-panel manga by Hisamakumako currently serialized in "Manga Time Kirara" (Houbunsha), will begin airing in April 2026. A teaser visual has also been released, showing the main character, Meiko Morita, with a confused expression, accompanied by the tagline, "The Tokyo student dormitory I longed for turned out to be a manga cafe."
The story follows Morita Meiko, who moves from the countryside to Tokyo to transfer to a girls' school, and ends up working as a live-in employee at a manga cafe that also serves as a girls' dormitory, in exchange for "free tuition if she does volunteer work." The manga cafe Hedgehog features a cast of cute staff members, including Amamiya Rie, the dormitory manager and manager, Suzuki Marika, a hugely popular streamer, and Nakano Otoo, who looks cute but is actually a serious gamer.
The anime will be directed by Yasuhiro Watanabe and produced by P.R.A.
