Although Asa had consciously chosen a life without children, she was betrayed by her trusted husband, Tetsuya (Koudai Asaka), and became pregnant. After much internal conflict, she decided to give birth, but just two weeks before her due date, she lost her baby.
Three months later, Asa returns to work, but at unexpected moments, she is reminded of her child and tears well up uncontrollably. Ogata (Hiromitsu Kitayama) continues to support Asa through these times, and their relationship slowly begins to change.
Meanwhile, Asa's ex-husband, Tetsuya, showed up at her house with a kitchen knife. Tetsuya began strangling Asa, saying, "I love you...", but Ogata intervened and prevented a tragedy. Tetsuya was indicted for attempted murder.
One year later, Asa, a hairdresser, was working with her colleague Aota (Maho Minamoto) to open their own salon. Ogata suggested, "Shall we start living together?" and she accepted. The episode ended with Asa's monologue: "I chose not to have children. I can't bear the regrets any longer. Even so, I will move forward little by little, feeling both regret and happiness."
On social media, comments included: "I empathized with Asa so much during the final episode that I cried the whole time. It was a really interesting drama until the very end," "I'm so glad Ogata was there for Asa," "I'm glad Asa had a happy ending," "I could relate to Asa in many ways, so it was a very worthwhile show," and "I'm waiting for season 2."
