◇The following contains spoilers
When Kokoro Mugi (Hirose) returns to the office with Matsukaze (Matsuyama Kenichi), they find lawyer Narukawa (Mamiya Hiroyuki) who offers to help them with the case.
Narukawa introduced himself as "Yamashita Haruo (Lily Franky) is another lawyer who came to observe the trial!" He joked with Kokoro Mugi, "Why call me 'Yamashita-san'? Can I just call you 'Ojo'? Hahahaha!"
"I'm still a lawyer," said Narukawa. "I became a lawyer after I retired from the police. Before that I was a prosecutor. The office is in Ginza, and now my son is the representative. But he's only interested in civil cases. I guess you'd think he's just trying to follow in his father's footsteps, right? There's really no competition! My wife's family is a big company, and I was adopted into the family recently! To put it simply, I have money!" he said, and offered to lend me his strength.
On social media, people were saying things like, "Narukawa seems suspicious," "The new Narukawa seems suspicious. His Kansai dialect sounds too weird," and "After being betrayed by that cheerful old man (Narukawa), I can't trust anyone anymore."
There have also been various speculations about the connection between Prosecutor Anan (Takiuchi Kumi) and the mysterious man with a carabiner attached to his backpack, with comments on social media such as, "I speculate that Prosecutor Anan and Lawyer Narukawa are father and daughter," "Prosecutor Anan's background is described in detail before Lawyer Narukawa appears. Suspicious. Is he really on Kokoromugi's side? Or...," "Attorney Narukawa is just too suspicious after all. I would like to propose the theory that Carabiner Man = Anan's father = Narukawa = the mastermind behind it all. The fact that he was recently adopted as a son-in-law means that his surname has changed, so that his misdeeds from his time as a prosecutor will not be known," and "Narukawa appears as if to announce the arrival of the real culprit. Isn't his voice the same as Carabiner Man's?"
