"Anpan" Episode 63: Taka's words at the beginning of the first episode are a hot topic

The 63rd episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on June 25th, and viewers reacted to the words of Takashi ( Takumi Kitamura).

In the 63rd episode, Taku appears in front of Nobu, who is standing alone in the ruins of a burnt school after an air raid, and the two are reunited. Taku tells Nobu that he quit his job as a teacher after hearing from Kamaji (Kotaro Yoshida) that Jiro (Ayumu Nakajima) has died.

Nobu is overcome with self-blame, saying, "We have done irreparable things to our children," and cries, "Let's see if we're still alive." Takashi emphasizes, "There is no life that deserves to die," and confesses that he doesn't know what to do and that he will continue to ask himself questions from now on. Takashi says, "There is no such thing as a just war. It's an illusion," and reflects on how many of his friends and Chihiro (Motoki Nakazawa) died because of that illusion of justice.

He continued, "That's why... you should never believe in justice. That kind of thing can be easily overturned. But if there is such a thing as justice that cannot be overturned... justice that makes everyone happy. I want to find it. I think that's the only thing I can do for Chihiro. No matter how many years, no matter how many decades it takes, I want to make everyone happy. When I thought that... I felt a surge of hope in my life. I couldn't afford to despair. So I must live. For Chihiro, for everyone, and for Nobu-chan, please live. For Jiro-san, and for the children that Nobu-chan loves," he said, encouraging Nobu.

In this scene, Taka uttered the line, "If there is such thing as justice that cannot be reversed...", which is connected to the opening of the first episode (broadcast on March 31). In the opening of the first episode, Taka's narration was played saying, "Justice can be reversed. It's hard to believe, but justice can easily be overturned. So, what is justice that can never be overturned? If there is someone who is hungry and in trouble, it is to deliver a piece of bread to them."

These words are the message that Takashi Yanase put into "Anpanman" when he was alive, and express the idea that helping people in need is true justice.
