The 90th episode of the NHK morning drama " Omusubi " starring Kanna Hashimoto was broadcast on February 7th, and viewers were drawn to the words and actions of Morishita Naohisa (Baba Asadora ), a doctor at the Osaka Shin-Yodogawa Memorial Hospital where Yui works.
In episode 90, Yui is concerned that Horiuchi (Seki Hideto), a hospitalized patient with ulcerative colitis, refuses to eat his food, saying it tastes bad. One day, Horiuchi's wife calls her for advice.
Horiuchi's wife said about her husband, "It seems that his bloody stools have gotten worse recently. His stomach seems to hurt a lot," and "He's been worrying about his throat a lot, and it seems like he's having trouble swallowing food." When Yui asked if she had told Morishita, the doctor in charge, his wife said, "No... I'm scared of that doctor, so it's hard to tell him."
When Matsuzaki (Nagano Munenori), a doctor who is a member of the NST, timidly tells Morishita that Horiuchi's bloody stools have gotten worse, Morishita coldly replies, "I know. That's why I changed his medication." Matsuzaki also asks Morishita to consider changing Horiuchi's diet, as his swallowing function has deteriorated, but Morishita responds with an overbearing, "I decide what to do with my patients."
Meanwhile, an emergency occurs when Horiuchi secretly eats an eel that his son had brought in and chokes on it. Morishita and Matsuzaki rush to his hospital room and perform treatment to help him vomit out the food, saving Horiuchi's life.
Afterwards, Morishita apologized to Horiuchi's family, saying, "I'm really sorry for creating an atmosphere where it was difficult for your family to talk." He also showed his approval of the NST, explaining, "It seems that the NST will be talking to you about your diet later."
In response to Morishita's words and actions, people on social media said things like, "I'm sorry I thought you were a scary teacher," "I was surprised that you apologized so honestly," "It's good to see your sincerity," and "The fact that you're looking murderous means that you're just that busy."
Many viewers also took notice of Morishita's frequent consumption of energy drinks, with some expressing concern, saying, "It's clear that he has a very busy job from the energy drinks he regularly consumes, his terrible complexion, and his stress-free attitude," and "I hope Morishita-sensei will also receive nutritional guidance."
