It has been revealed that actress Ayaka Konno and Jin Suzuki will co-star in the drama series "Revenge Boyfriend: There's a Secret Behind the Face of the Doting President," which will begin airing on February 27th in the "MBS Drama Special Zone" slot (Thursdays at 12:59am and other times).
The drama is a live-action adaptation of the manga (CLLENN) of the same name by Chika Sanada and Ryo Morita. In order to get revenge on her office lover and the man he cheated on her with, Maika Hattori starts a fake relationship with a handsome company president... This is a love story between a man and a woman who are connected by mutual interests.
The role of Maika will be played by Konno, an exclusive model for the fashion magazine "non-no" (Shueisha), who made her TV drama debut in "Kamen Rider Zi-O" (2018-19) and will be starring in a terrestrial TV drama series at the same time as the currently airing "Seal My Lips With a Kiss" (Yomiuri TV). The role of Satoru Shun, the company president who helps Maika with her revenge by becoming her fake boyfriend and who also tries to escape from his fiance, will be played by Suzuki, an exclusive model for "MEN'S NON-NO" (same publisher) and an actor who has appeared in popular films such as "Teasing Master Takagi-san" and "Hakkenden" (both 2024).
The story begins with Maika, whose boyfriend she was in a workplace romance with was cheating on her. The woman her boyfriend was cheating with was also at work. They eventually broke up, and in her despair, she was approached by Shun, the president of the company she works for, to get revenge. Shun, who had just been appointed president, becomes Maika's "fake lover" and takes revenge on her ex-boyfriend and his lover. Shun also wants to escape from his fiancé, who was chosen for him by his parents, so the two share a common interest. And so their fake relationship begins, but Shun actually has another goal. This is the beginning of a multi-layered drama of revenge... and so the story unfolds.

The character I play, Satori Shun, is the president of a large company and is generally a calm person. However, as the subtitle says, he has a doting side when it comes to Maika. Meeting Maika, Shun changes as the story progresses, but I played the role while being conscious of the gaps in Shun's personality and what he is carrying inside. "Revenge" is the keyword in this work, so please enjoy the revenge that Shun is planning and the future that the two of them move towards, fueled by revenge.
