A press conference was held for the 22nd installment of the popular anime series "PreCure", "Idol PreCure with You". The motif of the 22nd installment is "idols", and the theme is "Because of you, I can shine and become stronger!". ABC Animation producer Nishimura Mai-on explained, "The idols we want to convey this time are idols who can shine together with you."
The 20th installment, "Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure," introduced "male Precure" and "new adult Precure," while the currently airing 21st installment, "Wonderful PreCure!", features the first appearance of a "dog Precure." The "Precure" series has a history of evolving and changing without being bound by conventional wisdom. The 22nd installment will introduce new themes such as "idols" and "fan service."
Producer Nishimura spoke about the thoughts he put into the work, saying, "I am able to shine because you are there to stand on stage with me, and because you are there to cheer me on. That shine is not one-way. By giving back to you the shine that you give me, you and I will shine on each other. I want to make this the most shining production in the series, one that can make all of you and me shine."
Also appearing at the press conference were Matsuoka Misato, who plays Cure Idol/Sakura Uta, Takahashi Minami, who plays Cure Ink/Soukaze Nana, and Takamori Natsumi, who plays Cure Kyun Kyun/Shiu Kokoro.
Takamori commented, "Since starting to work with the staff, I've come to feel that PreCure is not just doing idol content, but that we are truly doing 'Idol PreCure.' It's a little difficult to put into words, but we are not doing idol content, but rather we are trying to create a PreCure called 'Idol PreCure.' I can feel the passion of that."
Takahashi said, "I take both being an idol and being a PreCure seriously. Idols can help people through singing and fan service. PreCure also helps you, and they are both idols and heroes. We are also synchronized, and I'm excited to become the strongest idol PreCure."
In "You and Idol PreCure♪," the legendary saviors, Idol PreCure, sing, dance, and give "fan service" for "you," the people they love, the people important to them, the people who support them, the people next to them, and the people in front of them, and your presence makes Idol PreCure shine brighter and stronger.
Kon Chiaki, who has worked on "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal," "Back Street Girls - Gokudols," and "Happiness Charge PreCure! The Movie," will serve as series director, Kato Yoichi will be in charge of series composition, and Sugimoto Miho will be in charge of character design. At the press conference, it was also announced that Nanjo Yoshino, who will be playing the role of Pririn, and Hanai Miharu, who will be playing the role of Meloron, will appear in the series. The series will air on ABC TV and TV Asahi every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. starting February 2nd.
