The final results of the "Worldwide 'Gundam' General Election 2025," a voting project for the popular anime series "Gundam," have been announced, revealing that the ν Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack) took first place in the worldwide rankings. The final number of valid votes exceeded 1.33 million, with Wing Gundam Zero (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz) coming in second place and Z Gundam (Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam) in third place.
The project allowed people to vote for their "favorite Gundam," and included Gundam-type mobile suits from the Universal Century series and Alternative series, as well as any mobile suit bearing the Gundam name. This was the first time a "Gundam" series project supported 10 languages. To commemorate the relaunch of the portal site "Gundam Info" as "GUNDAM Official Website," voting was accepted from October 10 to December 25, 2025, with one vote per person per day.
In the Japanese ranking, the top spot went to ν Gundam, in the English ranking to Wing Gundam Zero (Endless Waltz) (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz), in the Simplified Chinese ranking to Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom), in Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) to ν Gundam, in Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) to Wing Gundam Zero (Endless Waltz), and in the Thai ranking to Strike Rouge (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED).
In the French language ranking, Gundam Aerial (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) took the top spot; in the Italian language ranking, Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans); in the Spanish language ranking, Gundam F91 (Mobile Suit Gundam F91); and in the Korean language ranking, Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam.
Seven newly drawn illustrations of Gundam, each representing the top-ranked Gundam in its respective category, were also unveiled.
As special awards, the RX-78 Award was given to the Shining Gundam (Mobile Fighter G Gundam), which ranked 78th worldwide, in honor of the RX-78-2 Gundam; the Mafty Award was given to the Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash AGE-2 Dark Hound (Mobile Suit Gundam AGE), which ranked 105th worldwide, in honor of the Universal Century 0105 setting of "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Witch of Circe"; the Gundam 47th Anniversary Award was given to the Ground Type Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team), which ranked 47th worldwide, to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the "Gundam" series; and the Neo Holland Award was given to the Neder Gundam (Mobile Fighter G Gundam), which ranked 25th worldwide and was the mobile fighter representing Neo Holland that many fans had been looking forward to.
