The TBS Friday drama "Takusari Brothers" (Fridays at 10 PM), starring actor Masaki Okada and also featuring Shota Sometani, has seen widespread praise for Takashi Yamanaka, who played Koki Mogi, nicknamed "Mocchan," a week after the final episode aired.
◇The following contains spoilers.
Thirty-one years ago, Makoto (Okada) and Minoru (Someya) believed that Mogi had been threatened by Sadao (Nagae Hidekazu) and Detective Sasaoka (Yuna Yanagi) and killed the brothers' parents. However, it was revealed that when Mogi visited the Tagasari family on the day of the incident, Sakutaro (Wada Masato) and the others were already dead. The real culprit was revealed to be Ashikaga Haruko (Igawa Haruka).
In particular, the scene in episode 8 featuring Mogi and his brothers at a public bathhouse garnered significant attention. The scene, depicting the three long-time friends sharing a bath for the first time without revealing the core issue, was met with enthusiastic praise from viewers, who called it "a memorable scene in drama history" and "a legendary episode."
Praise for Yamanaka, who played Mogi, poured in, with comments on social media such as, "Just seeing the bathhouse scene made this drama worth watching," "The bathhouse scene was the most touching," "Mocchan, who could be considered the other main character of the Tagusari Brothers, was truly wonderful," "I think good acting isn't just about being good at acting in that one moment, but about being able to bring out a depth as if you've truly lived the life of that character, so Yamanaka Takashi's Mocchan this time was amazing," and "Applause to Yamanaka Takashi for brilliantly playing this role."
