Actors Riko Fukumoto and Shinki Sugo will appear on NHK's "Doyo Suta" (General Channel) program, airing from 2:05 PM on June 27th. This episode is a pre-launch special for the NHK premium drama "Wasurenagusa no Saku Machi de ~Azumino Shinryo-ki~" (BS, Sundays at 10 PM), starring Fukumoto, and will feature Fukumoto and Sugo discussing the highlights of the show.
The drama is based on a medical novel by Sosuke Natsukawa, known for works such as "God's Medical Chart." Set in a local hospital in Azumino, Shinshu, it depicts the lives of young medical professionals who work diligently while being forced to make the ultimate decisions every day: life extension versus dignity. Fukumoto plays Mikoto Tsukioka, a nurse who was born and raised in Matsumoto and is in her third year working at a hospital that supports regional medical care in Azumino, while Sugo plays Shotaro Katsura, a new intern whose trademark is his messy hair. It will begin airing on the 28th.
The program will also feature interviews with Takashi Naito, Maho Nonami, and Mitsuru Mitsuru Fukikoshi, who co-star with Fukumoto and Sugo, and will explore the appeal of the drama. In addition, Zen Kajiwara will reveal some surprising aspects of Fukumoto's true personality.
