On March 31, actress Anne appeared at a press conference held at the Finnish Embassy in Japan (Minato-ku, Tokyo) to announce the completion of "BLOOD & SWEAT," a Japanese-Finnish co-production drama series (WOWOW) in which she co-stars with popular Finnish actor Jasper Peakonen. Anne, who stayed in Finland for about three months for filming, said thoughtfully, "It was such a wonderful city that I would love to live there again someday."
Anne revealed that she stayed in Finland for the filming with her family, including her three children and two dogs. She smiled and said, "I never once wanted to go home, and I was really sad when I left Tampere at the end. It was such a comfortable place that even now I would love to go back if I had the chance."
Regarding the comfortable atmosphere, Anne explained what impressed her, saying, "There was a sauna, and the water and air were delicious, and the town was clean, so there was no stress at all." She added, "There were tough times, like practicing lines and action scenes for many hours every day, but overall it was fun, and it was a very comfortable town."
Anne, who took on her first main role in a drama with English dialogue in this film, said, "The English dialogue was the biggest hurdle. Filming, which involved living in Tampere, Finland for three months, was a very valuable experience where I was completely immersed in Finland." Reflecting on the filming, she added, "I worked hardest on the English, and there was also a lot of action, so I tackled the project using both my mind and body."
On this day, Mr. Peakonen, director Daniel Toivonen, and Finnish Ambassador to Japan Tanja Järskääinen were also in attendance.
This drama is WOWOW's new overseas project, following the highly acclaimed "TOKYO VICE," a co-production between WOWOW and Hollywood.
