It has been announced that Fairouz Ai and Honoka Inoue will be joining the cast of the TV anime "The World's Strongest Witch, I Started," based on the popular light novel by Motomaru Sakaki with illustrations by riritto. Fairouz will play Elimina, the master of the adventurer's guild and known as the "Witch of Destruction," while Inoue will play Elna, an elf princess who worries about her ailing mother.
Fairouz commented, "Elimina is a character with extremely wide emotional swings, so I did my best to have fun playing her and not get left behind by her passion. The contrast between the fantasy world and the internet slang flying around is amazing, and I couldn't help but chuckle while reading the script! The fast-paced misunderstandings between her and Lorna are a must-see! Please look forward to it!"
Inoue said, "I still clearly remember when I auditioned to play Elna. It was fun and I loved her so much... I am so happy to be able to play Elna again. I will put my heart into playing the role so that I can convey to everyone the many sparkling moments and delicate heart that Elna experiences in her daily life. Thank you very much."
"I Started Being the World's Strongest Witch" tells the story of Rona, a girl who is banished after manifesting the weakest skill, but whose true nature is an SSS-rank cheat skill called "Internet," which allows her to freely search the world's "strategy guides" and modern knowledge. Using this ultimate power, she embarks on adventures around the world. The light novel is published by SQEX Novels (Square Enix), and a manga version by Tamaki Toga is serialized in "Tsuki Maga Kichi" (Kodansha).
The anime will be directed by Joji Furuta and produced by Bridge and Isle. Azusa Tachibana will voice the main character, Lorna. It will begin airing in October.
