A new cut has been released depicting Fureru, a mysterious creature that appears in the original animated feature film Fureru (released October 4th) directed by Nagai Tatsuyuki, known for popular anime such as Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (Anohana) and Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda (The Anthem of the Heart). The cut gives a glimpse of Fureru's ecology, such as standing on the grass and peeking out from behind one of the main characters, Onoda Aki. New visuals have also been released depicting the three main characters and Fureru.
Fureru is a hedgehog-like creature that the three main characters, who are from the same island, bring with them from the island when they move to Tokyo, and with the power of Fureru, the three can hear the voices of each other's hearts without them having to speak them. There is also a legend on the island that says, "It's like a god or a monster that connects people together..."
Regarding the background of the birth of "Fureru," Director Nagai said, "Actually, at first, it was like an older brother that connected the three of them, but after many twists and turns, it became a mysterious creature called Fureru," and added, "All the staff worked hard and I think it turned out very cute. I hope you will enjoy watching it."
"Fureru" is the story of childhood friends Onoda Aki, Sobue Ryo, and Inohara Yuta, who grew up on the same island, who move to Tokyo at the age of 20 and start living together in Takadanobaba, Tokyo. Aki works part-time at a bar, Ryo is a new graduate at a real estate company, and Yuta is a vocational school student aspiring to be a fashion designer. Although their lives are all different, their hearts are always connected by the special power of "touch," and each of their words flows into each other even without being spoken. The friendship between the three people connected by "touch" changes due to a hidden "another power." Nagase Ren, Bando Ryuta, and Maeda Kentaro play the main characters Aki, Ryo, and Yuta, respectively.
