It has been announced that singer-songwriter Toshinobu Kubota will be performing the theme songs for the TV anime "Let's Play: My Life Full of Quests," based on the popular web manga "Let's Play." This will be Kubota's first time performing theme songs for an anime in about 30 years, and he has written the opening theme "1, 2, Play" and the ending theme "Left & Right" specifically for the series.
It was also announced that a re-edited version of Mariya Takeuchi's "Plastic Love" will be played as the main theme for "RUMINATE," a game created in the film by the protagonist Sam Young, who dreams of becoming a game creator. The song will be performed by Korean producer and DJ Night Tempo.
Additional cast members have also been announced, with Ayane Sakura and Yoko Hikasa playing Angela and Vicky, Sam's best friends who are in the same guild as him in the game. Hiro Watanabe will play Dallas, Link's younger brother and a member of the same guild as Sam and the others. Kengo Tsujii, Nami Kurisaka, and Kenichirou Matsuda will play the other guild members Abe, Olivia, and Edgar.
The cast includes Mie Sonozaki as Monica, Marshall's girlfriend and popular beauty blogger, Mitsuki Saiga as Dee, the owner of Sam's favorite coffee shop and his college roommate, Sumire Morohoshi as Lucy, a receptionist at Sam's company, Tasuku Hatanaka as Umed, Sam's colleague at the company, and Kenta Miyake as Samuel, the president of the company where Sam works and his father. Miyake also plays Bowser, Sam's pet dog.
The main visual and main PV have been released, featuring Sam, Marshall, Charles, and Link in formal attire.
The series is set in Los Angeles, USA. The story follows Sam Young, a 22-year-old who dreams of becoming a game creator. He has always avoided deep relationships with men, but as he quickly becomes close to three men, he gradually begins to break out of his shell. The series has garnered popularity, with a total of over 900 million views and over 6.8 million subscribers worldwide.
The anime will be directed by Daiki Tomiyasu, who has worked on the "Pokemon" series, and the characters will be designed by Ebimo, who has worked on "Charisma" and "High Card." It will be produced by OLM. Kana Hanazawa will play Sam, while Shinba Tsuchiya, Yuichi Nakamura, and Tomokazu Sugita will play the three men who appear before Sam. It will begin airing on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "+Ultra" and elsewhere from October 1st.
