Singer Kokonoe Yumiko and her husband, singer Tanabe Yasuo, will appear on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on August 25th. The showbiz industry's most loving couple, Kokonoe is now 79 and Tanabe is 80. The couple, who have been married for 52 years, will reveal the "secret to their happy marriage."
Both are old friends who have performed with Kuroyanagi since their teenage years. They will reminisce about the past and will also perform a medley of classic songs from the Showa era.
Two years ago, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with their family. Apparently, their son's family gave them a message card. Tanabe says he is keenly aware of the "wall of turning 80." He injured his hip joint and underwent artificial joint surgery in May of this year. One week after being released from hospital, he had recovered enough to perform on stage.
