Actor Riko will star in the drama series "3-C Class is Having an Affair" (Nippon TV, Tuesdays at 12:24am) which will begin airing on October 1st. The drama is the third in the Tuesday platinum night slot "Drama DEEP", which is themed around deep human relationships and suspense. It is a "school affair suspense" drama that depicts first love, pregnancy, marriage and affairs, set in a class of third-year high school students, where the adult age has been lowered to 18 and they can now marry without parental consent.
Riko will play Uemura Aoi, a high school girl in class 3-C at Aodai University High School, who transfers to the school and falls into an affair with her first love. Mokushiro Kazuto will play Tachibana Iori, a student in class 3-C and Aoi's first love.
Also appearing in the series are Akita Shiori as Takanashi Kotone, a student in class 3C who was in a relationship with Iori in the past, Yutaro as Sudo Kanata, Iori's best friend, Tanaka Miku as Sasaki Marin, a student in class 3C who is having an affair with their homeroom teacher, Hosoda Yoshihiko as Nakano Masayoshi, class 3C's homeroom teacher, Mori Kasumi as Nakano Rei, Nakano's wife and school nurse at Ao University High School, and Yashiba Toshihiro as Yabe Koji, vice principal of Ao University High School.
Also appearing are Takezai Terunosuke as Tachibana Yutaka, Iori's father and the director of Tachibana General Hospital, Sakai Miki as Iori's mother Tachibana Kyoko, and Kuninaka Ryoko as Kamimura Haruka, Ao's mother.
In the first episode, during the summer holidays of his third year of junior high school, Kamimura Ao is fed up with his parents' constant fighting and stays at his grandmother's house. Meanwhile, he meets a young man of the same age, Tachibana Iori, at a small planetarium in town, and falls in love for the first time. Ao decides to confess his feelings to Iori before the end of summer vacation, but he believes he has been rejected due to a misunderstanding, and they never meet again.
Three years later, as a third-year high school student, Ao transfers to his mother Haruka's alma mater after his parents' divorce, and has a fateful reunion with Iori in a classroom in class 3C. Ao, who is awkwardly avoiding Iori, is invited to work part-time by his classmate Sasaki Marin. However, the part-time job is a sugar daddy, and Ao feels in danger and tries to run away, but is saved by Iori. Then, Iori takes Ao to school at night to clear up the misunderstanding from three years ago.
Ao and Iori's first love is rekindled, but their love is hindered by classmate Takanashi Kotona, who has a secret. Meanwhile, Haruka is reunited with her former lover, Tachibana Yutaka, and her best friend, Tachibana Kyoko, as guardians, and the feelings of love she thought she had let go of begin to rekindle...
