It has been announced that filming for the NHK morning drama " Anpan " (General Asadora , Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM), starring Mio Imada , wrapped up on August 22nd. Imada, who plays the main character Nobu, revealed her feelings, saying, "Being able to create ' Anpan' with all these wonderful people is a treasure I will cherish for the rest of my life. I'm so happy. Thank you so much."
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu Komatsu(1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will fill you with the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobodys, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
Imada said, "I'm realizing now how many people supported me over the past year since filming began. There were many fun things, but also painful and worrying times, and Nobu's words, 'You'll never amount to anything,' really struck me, and I sometimes questioned myself." However, she added, "But when I look back, I cherish all the memories of laughing so much, and crying, and I'm truly glad I was able to play Nobu. I'm also really glad that Takumi Kitamura was the one to play Taka. I was saved a lot. Thank you."
The drama will have its final episode on September 26th.
