Additional cast members have been announced for the TV anime "Shirotan," featuring the popular character Shirotan, modeled after a harp seal. It has been revealed that Miyu Hanasaki will voice Rakkoinu, Rina Hidaka will voice Sheru, and Riyo Iwai will voice Ramune. The official promotional video featuring Shirotan, voiced by Aoi Yuki, as well as Rakkoinu, Sheru, and Ramune has been released on YouTube.
Hanasaki, who plays Rakkoinu, a character that looks like both an otter and a dog, commented, "I've been soothed by the world of 'Shirotan,' which is so cute, soft, fluffy, and gives me energy. I will do my best to portray the charm of Rakkoinu, who is delicate, gentle, and shy, to the fullest. I hope to deliver this warm and comforting world to everyone so that it can be a source of healing and encouragement in their daily lives, so please look forward to it!"
Hidaka, who plays the reliable shell character Sheru, said, "'Shirotan' is a work that makes you feel warm and gentle in your heart when you watch it. The curious characters and the positive words that Shirotan speaks made me feel positive. I hope that 'Shirotan' will be a work that heals everyone's hearts, gently stays by their side, and sometimes gives them a push in the right direction. Iwai, who plays Ramune, a penguin who longs to fly, said, "'Shirotan' is a charming work that is full of warmth and kindness and soothes the heart. I am honored to be able to participate in such a wonderful work, and this is my debut work, so everything is a first experience for me and I am nervous, but I will do my best so that everyone who loves 'Shirotan' can enjoy it, so please support us."
Shirotan is a character created in 1999, and its pure white, fluffy form and gentle expression have made it popular. The anime is directed by Arisa Okada, with series composition and script by Iku Yoshizuki. TV Asahi and Shin-Ei Animation are in charge of planning and production, and Lesprit is handling the animation. It will air on TV Asahi every Saturday at 4:29 PM starting in October.
