It has been announced that voice actor and actor Kenjiro Tsuda will be appearing in the " Doraemon Birthday Special" of the popular anime series " Doraemon " (TV Asahi), which will air from 6:56 PM on September 6th. This will be Tsuda's first appearance in " Doraemon," and he will be narrating the secret gadget, the movie can, that appears in the original episode "Treasure of the Castle in the Sky! ~Legend of the True Hero~," which is set in the world of the movie. Tsuda will also be appearing in the regular episode "Want to be in a Movie!? Doraemon," which will air from 5 PM on the same day. In the episode, in which Doraemon transforms into a cool character using a secret gadget, Tsuda will play the role of "Cool Doraemon."
Regarding "Doraemon," Tsuda commented, "I've been watching the anime and reading the manga since I was a child, so I've always wanted to appear in it, but the opportunity never came. I was really, really happy to be asked to do this. I participated in the dubbing with great enthusiasm, thinking, 'I have to do my best!'"
Regarding the highlights of the "Birthday Special," he said, "Dora-chan, Nobi-chan and the others become characters from various movies, and each one is a lot of fun. They each wear costumes from the movie world, so you'll get to see them like you've never seen them before. Not only do they play big roles, but a lot of difficult things happen, and the chaos is lots of fun, so I hope you'll check it out. As a voice actor, I also think it would be nice to have a candy that would quickly heal your throat when you have a sore throat. When asked about his memories related to Doraemon, he shared, "When I was a child, I dreamed of having Nobita's room, so I tried sleeping in the closet just like Dora-chan. My parents found out right away and pulled me out, saying, 'What are you doing?!' But I still think sleeping in a closet is so cool (laughs). I think there are a lot of people who feel the same way, so I think it would be great if there was an item like a ' Doraemon closet bed set'."
He said that out of all the characters in "Doraemon," he feels the closest to "Nobita," and shared his thoughts, "I actually fall asleep easily too, and when I was a kid, I used to put off my homework...I'm also pretty good at target practice. Nobita is often portrayed as a hopeless character, but as I get older, I think he's very childlike and cute."
"Doraemon Birthday Special" is broadcast every year to celebrate Doraemon's birthday (September 3, 2112). This year, an original story set in the world of the movie, "Treasure of the Castle in the Sky! ~Legend of the True Hero~," will be broadcast.
