Michigami (Mizukawa) once again meets Hiroko (Takaoka Saki) in Ainan Town, Ehime Prefecture. Hiroko tells Michigami that her mother was from China, how she met Wadajima (Kato Masaya), gave birth to Seike (Sakurai Sho), and how she became a politician.

To find the answer, Michigami visits Hiroko's current husband, Komatsu (Horiuchi Masami), and begins to direct his suspicions at a certain person.

The story is based on the novel of the same name by Hayami Kazuma (Bunshun Bunko). This is a political suspense story in which Michigami Kanae, a newspaper reporter played by Mizukawa, delves into the dark side of young politician Seike Ichiro and his secretary Suzuki Toshiya.
