The 29th episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , aired on May 7th, and the occupation and future dreams of Kenjiro Shimada, nicknamed "Shimaken" (played by Masaya Sano), whose background had been shrouded in mystery, were revealed, becoming a hot topic among viewers.
Rin (Mikami), who was looking for a souvenir for Tamaki (Ema), coincidentally runs into Shimaken in town. Since Shimaken comes out of a newspaper office, Rin guesses that he is a "newspaper reporter," but Shimaken denies it.
Shimaken revealed, "I was a type picker. That's the answer. That's who I am." He explained, "Katakana, hiragana, kanji. I look at the manuscript from a mountain of character stamps, select each character one by one, arrange them to make sentences, and then print them out to make a newspaper. I'm a type picker because I pick out and arrange those characters. I'm also called a type selector or type maker."
Rin agrees that it's the perfect job for Shimaken, but Shimaken replies, "That's... a shame. It's not the job I want to do," and adds, "I aspire to be a novelist. I want to be one. So I'm nobody in particular."
Rin encouraged him, saying, "You're just nobody yet, right? You never know what a year from now will bring," and her eyes lit up as she added, "I'd love to read your novels, Shimaken." Shimaken bowed his head and said, "I'll do my best to write something that people will want to read."
On social media, comments included: "Finally, we know who Shimaken really is!", "So Shimaken was a typewriter!", "Shimaken is actually an aspiring novelist. He's a dreamer!", "That's why he knows so many words!", "Now that we know who he is, it makes perfect sense!", and "That's why he's nobody in particular!"
