NHK's history program "History Detective" (NHK General) will air "Sengoku Special: Toyotomi Osaka Castle" on March 18th at 10 PM. The program will recreate the legendary Osaka Castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi using VR (virtual reality) and explore its full scope.
The current Osaka Castle was largely built during the Tokugawa period, and its keep was rebuilt in the Showa era. Toyotomi Osaka Castle was four times larger than it is today, and it is said that a magnificent keep adorned with jet black and gold once stood there.
