It has been announced that Akari Nibu, a former member of Hinatazaka46, will be making a guest appearance in season 2 of the Fuji TV drama series "Tokyo PD: Metropolitan Police Department Public Relations Section 2." She will play a key character who holds the key to the case.
"Tokyo PD: Metropolitan Police Department Public Relations Section 2" is an original, socially conscious police drama depicting the pride, reputation, conflicts, and struggles between the Metropolitan Police Department's public relations department and the detectives on the scene of investigations. Currently, season 1 is airing in the Tuesday 9pm drama slot, starring Sota Fukushi. After season 1 finishes, season 2 is scheduled to be exclusively streamed on the network's video service, "FOD".
Nibu plays Mikie Minowa, a member of the "Shinsei Jison no Kai," a self-improvement seminar group. To Rintaro Imaizumi, played by Fukushi, and others, she becomes an "eerie presence."
Nibu commented, "I never dreamed that I would be given the opportunity to appear in this, so I am truly overjoyed! Thank you very much. The character I play, Mikie Minowa, is a character with strong feelings for what she believes in. I felt that even with the same strong feelings, a person's sensibilities can change depending on the environment in which they grew up and their values. It is a story that can be enjoyed from any perspective as you consider what the right answer is, so please look forward to it!"
It was also announced that actor and musician Shuji Kashiwabara will appear in season 2, just like Nibu. He will play Saejima, a mysterious character who will be a key figure in season 2.
