This veteran comedy duo has been together for 26 years, but they only really broke through about two years ago. During their slump, both of them worked part-time at a convenience store in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo. What was Kuroyanagi's reaction to their stand-up comedy?
The comedic foil of the duo, Seki Futoshi, comes from a mountainous area in Gunma Prefecture, nearly 1000 meters above sea level. He grew up in a rich natural environment, playing in the mountains and sucking nectar from flowers, and apparently his family's curry contained bear meat hunted by their family.
Koji Yamamoto, the straight man of the duo, hails from Niigata Prefecture. He grew up with loving parents. After moving to Tokyo to pursue a career in comedy, his father passed away shortly afterward. He considered returning to his hometown, but he recalls that it was a single word from his older brother that allowed him to continue in comedy.
