The seventh episode, "How to Draw the Curtain," of "Rouge: The Secret Pleasures of Kyoto People" (Sundays at 10 p.m.), starring Moeka Hoshi as the heroine, will be broadcast on NHK BS and NHKBS Premium 4K on March 8th.

"Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures Rouge - Inheritance" depicts the issue of "succession" at Kuraya Harunobu, one of Kyoto's most established Japanese confectionery shops, boasting a 240-year tradition. Miyako (Hoshi), who grew up in Paris, is approached by her father, Mikami Takeru (played by Kanji Ishimaru), who suggests she take over the long-established confectionery shop. Miyako (Hoshi), who grew up in Paris, moves into her stepmother, Miyako (Takako Tokiwa),'s family home, Kuraya Harunobu, and begins living with Miyako's mother, Tsuruko (played by Ginpocho). Miyako also returns from Paris to act as "tutor," and the three women begin living together.
In episode 7, Raku visits a Japanese confectionery shop with Tsuruko. He is moved when he sees the proprietress (Ise Kayo) decide to close the shop. Sanpachi asks Satoru (Fukimizu Motoki) for advice on taking over Kuraya. Hiroomi's (Sugita Rairin) mother, Yoshiko (Natori Yuko), urges her husband, Yodayu (Danda Yasunori), to face her son and reveals a shocking truth. Kotaro (Hayashi Kento) is reunited with Eiji (Maikuma Katsuya). He calls Yuko (Riho Yoshioka) in England.

"Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures Rouge - Inheritance" is set in the long-established Japanese confectionery shop, Kuraya Harunobu. The story is set eight years after Sawafuji Sanya, the "Kyoto person among Kyoto people" depicted in "Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures," which aired five times irregularly from January 2015 to May 2017, left for Paris. The story revolves around the new heroine, Mikami Raku, and Sanya, and depicts the heavy burden of "inheritance" that weighs on the people of Kyoto.
Hayashi's role as gardener Kent Kotaro Wakabayashi, played by Yoshioka in "Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures Blue: Training," which aired from 2017 to 2022 and focused on young people in Kyoto, first appeared in episode 5. Yoshioka, who plays ceramic artist Yuko Miyasaka, and Maikuma, who plays Eiji Shoin, a vegetable farmer in Ohara, Kyoto, will also be involved in the story. While Kotaro and Yuko have resumed their relationship, it is revealed in the show that they broke up for the second time while he was training in England. Episode 7 is likely to reveal more details about what happened between the two.
