It was announced on January 30th that model and actress Meru Ikumi will be appearing in the role of Osaragi in the film "SAKAMOTO DAYS" (directed by Yuichi Fukuda), which will be released on April 29th. A visual of her with long black hair, a dramatic change in her appearance, has been released and is generating a lot of buzz.
The film is based on the popular manga by Suzuki Yuto, which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), and the screenplay is also written by director Fukuda, who is known for the "Gintama" series and "From Today, It's My Turn!! The Movie." The film stars Meguro Ren of the popular group "Snow Man." Sakamoto Taro (Meguro), a former legendary hitman who now runs a shop after retiring, fights assassins with his friends to protect the peaceful daily life he lives with his beloved family.
Osaragi, played by Ikumi, is a member of a special task force directly under the Japan Hitman League (commonly known as Satsuren), the largest organization in Japan that controls professional hitmen, and is the only female member of ORDER, known as the strongest force in the hitman world. Although she has a gentle personality, when it comes to her mission, she displays incredible strength that belies her appearance, easily swinging a giant chainsaw around in battle. She is a popular character who is also supported by fans of the original work.
