It was revealed on January 30th that a spin-off of Masanori Morita's popular manga Rokudenashi BLUES, Rokudenashi BLUES -Onikuzu- (the reading of Onikuzu is "Onikazura"), will begin serialization in the manga magazine Grand Jump (Shueisha) this summer. The story is written by Morita and illustrated by Boichi, known for his illustrations of Dr. Stone, and will depict the showdown between the four heavenly kings, "Onizuka of Shibuya" and "Kasai of Ikebukuro", which was not depicted in the main story.
Rokudenashi Blues is a manga that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 1988 to 1997. It tells the story of Maeda Taison, who aspires to become a professional boxer, enrolling in Teiken High School in Kichijoji and battling various formidable opponents.
It has been adapted into an anime, a live-action film, a TV drama, and a stage play.
