The second season of the TV anime " Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, " based on the manga by the popular band Mrs. Green Apple currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan), will be broadcast on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" every Friday at 11pm starting January 16th.
In the 29th episode, "Let's Go," which is the first episode of the second season, Frieren, Fern, and Stark leave the magical city of Oisarst and, while traveling through the northern countries, fall into a hole through loose ground. There, they find a vast expanse of "Magic Sealing Ore," a mineral with the power to nullify magic. Unable to use their magic, Frieren and Fern search for a path to the surface, but a monster appears.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in April 2020. Frieren, a magician in the hero's party who defeated the Demon King, is an elf and long-lived. After experiencing the death of a companion, she embarks on a journey to "discover humanity." The manga has been selected for the Manga Taisho 2021, the 25th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize's Newcomer Award, the 69th (2023) Shogakukan Manga Award, and the 48th Kodansha Manga Award in the Boys' category. The manga has sold over 32 million copies. The first season of the anime aired from September 2023 to March 2024.
