TV Tokyo's economic talk show "Cambrian Palace" (TV Tokyo, Thursdays 11:06pm) will be undergoing a major renewal this April to mark the 20th anniversary of its first broadcast in April 2006. It was revealed on January 16th that the new MCs will be author Kanehara Hitomi and music creator Hyadain. This is the first time the show has had an MC change.
The show has previously been hosted by author Ryu Murakami and actress Eiko Koike, and has invited cutting-edge corporate executives as guests, gaining support from executives and businesspeople as an "economic talk show for adults."
After the renewal, the main interviewer will be Kanahara, who won the Akutagawa Prize at the age of 20 for his debut novel, "Snakes and Earrings." Working alongside Kanahara will be Hyadain, a music creator who has written songs for many idols and artists, written lyrics, composed music, and arranged music for anime and games, and is himself an artist and TV personality. These two top creators of the same generation will clash over their sensibilities, creating a chemistry as they delve into the lives of corporate leaders in different fields.
At the time of the announcement, Murakami, who is currently the main interviewer, commented, "Writers never die, they just walk away."

I have been given the opportunity to take over as interviewer for "Cambrian Palace" from Murakami Ryu. I still can't believe I'm now working on a show that has been loved by viewers for 20 years and where being with Murakami Ryu and Koike Eiko has become a part of my everyday life.
To be honest, when I first heard about the project, I had about three writers in mind who I thought would be more suitable. Even after the producers tried to persuade me, I couldn't get those three writers out of my head.
When I asked the editor who was with me if I was okay with it, he seemed unsure, and when I mentioned the names of writers that had come to mind, such as maybe this person or that person would be better, he said that if all went well, it would probably be around those people.
Even now that I've made up my mind, knowing that this kind of experience isn't something you get to have very often, I can't get the three authors out of my head. But since I gave in to the temptation and accepted the offer, I had no choice but to go for it.
I'm a complete outsider, and the selection may be a mistake. But I'm going to take advantage of the program's spirit of making unconventional selections, unleash my curiosity and desire to report, and give it a go!

I am incredibly excited to have been appointed to renew TV Tokyo's flagship program. I am also excited that I feel no pressure at all. I will do my best to carefully convey the words of the leading figures who are creating the times to our viewers. I will also do my utmost to support Kanehara-san, creating an environment where he can speak freely.
I've said a lot, but I'm a bold person, and I'm eager to use the knowledge and insights I've gained from recording in my songwriting. New things are fun! I look forward to your continued support.

The next person to take over is the author Kanehara Hitomi. She has captured the times with her unique, sharp sensibility and intense writing style. There is a fateful "story" in which Ryu wrote the commentary for her debut novel, "Snakes and Earrings," and Kanehara also wrote the commentary for Ryu's latest novel, "YouTuber." The other is music creator Hyadain. In addition to working as a songwriter, artist, and TV personality, he also hosts a student entrepreneurship contest, demonstrating his curiosity and multi-career approach that is emblematic of the current era.
What kind of chemistry will these two create, and how will they tackle the challenges of being a corporate leader in a completely different field? I'm already excited. "Let's survive together in this ever-changing world," Kanehara said on the occasion of the publication of his book. The new Cambria Palace aims to consider how companies and managers can survive in a turbulent world and a rapidly changing society.
