Actor Yukiya Kitamura and Suzuka Fujisawa of the popular band Mrs. Green Apple appeared at the production announcement for the TBS Sunday Theatre "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm) held in Tokyo on January 15th.
The drama is an original work that popular screenwriter Kuroiwa Tsutomu spent three years planning. It is a suspense story about a kind-hearted pastry chef, Hayase Riku (Suzuki Ryohei), who is framed for the murder of his wife. In order to prove his innocence and find the real culprit, he abandons his beloved family and past and disguises himself as a corrupt Metropolitan Police Department detective, Gido Ayumu. Kitamura plays Goroku, the head of an underground organization, and Fujisawa plays Kiriya, a coworker of Fuyuhashi (Nagase Ren).
Kitamura revealed that he had no idea that Fujisawa was a member of Mrs. until halfway through filming, saying, "My first impression was that she had an air about her. She's definitely not an actor. Who on earth is she? She was very humble. I was also concerned that she was too humble."
He also said, "The aura of actors and singers is different. I definitely thought (Fujisawa) was not an actor. He dressed frivolously for the role, but after the performance he bowed deeply...I wondered who he was. He was that humble." He was surprised at how humble Fujisawa was.
Fujisawa recalled, "Our vocalist told me, 'Don't forget what your job is.' Because I was working with actors, I felt there were points where I had to work harder than everyone else and there were many things I had to learn thoroughly. I went to the set every time with the intention of learning something new."
Also appearing at the production announcement event were Suzuki Ryohei, Toda Erika, King & Prince's Nagase Ren, Aju Makita, Nakagawa Daisuke, Diane's Tsuda Atsuhiro, and Ito Hideaki.
