The launch of the "Kamen Rider Movie Project" has been announced to commemorate the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider's birth in 2026. At noon on January 7th, Toei's official website, "Kamen Rider WEB," displayed a countdown of "20 days left" leading up to noon on the 27th.
Up until now, films befitting the anniversary of Kamen Rider's birth have been produced. For the 45th anniversary (2016), the film "Kamen Rider No. 1" (directed by Kaneda Osamu) was released, featuring Hiroshi Fujioka the original Kamen Rider.
To mark the 50th anniversary of his birth (2021), three projects were announced: the film "Shin Kamen Rider" (2023), directed and written by Hideaki Anno; the drama "Kamen Rider BLACK SUN" (Prime Video, 2022), which became a hot topic and stars Hidetoshi Nishijima and Tomoya Nakamura; and "Kamen Rider W" (U-NEXT, TOKYO MX), an animated sequel to "Kamen Rider W."
Attention is focused on what announcement will be made at noon on the 27th, as indicated by the countdown.
