Additional cast members have been announced for the third season of the TV anime " Jujutsu Kaisen," "Culling Game Part 1," based on the popular manga by Gege Akutami that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). It has been revealed that the cast members will include Nakai Kazuya as Kinji, Sakakibara Yuki as Kirara Hoshi, Sugita Tomokazu Sugita as Fumihiko Takaba, Tsuruoka Satoshi as Takaba Fumihiko, Aoyama Jo as Reggie Star, and Neeko as Kogane.
Nakai, who plays Kinji Hashibira, a third-year student currently suspended from Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, commented, "I am very happy to be able to take part in ' Jujutsu Kaisen.' Perhaps I have been blessed with great luck. The character's name alone appeared early on, and expectations and imagination were building, so to be honest I do feel some pressure, but I will believe in the voice that resonated within me when I read the original work, and I will work hard and with passion, while remaining flexible and with a strong core."
Sakakibara, who plays Hoshi Kirara, a third-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, said, "Kirara will finally appear in ' Culling Game Part 1.' Ever since I read the manga, I've been interested in this girl, who has a mysterious charm that is both cute and cool. I feel truly honored to be able to play her. I will do my best to fully convey Kirara's charm to the viewers and to Kin-chan, so I hope you will support me. Kirara is so cute!"
Sugita, who plays Hisha Hiromi, a modern-day magician who has newly awakened as a Culling Game Swimmer (Player), said, "All of you viewers are jurors. Let's watch together to see how this story (trial) ends. Thank you for your support."
Tsuruoka, who also plays the swimmer Fumihiko Takaba, said, "Congratulations on the airing of the third season of the anime. I'm Tsuruoka Satoshi, and I've been asked to play the role of Fumihiko Takaba. Cool, stylish, and very serious. Fumihiko Takaba appears in the story as a man of conviction. It is very difficult and tough to follow your own path, but seeing him use his own convictions as his driving force and work hard without caring about the consequences, I vowed to face him in the same way. I hope you will continue to support us for a while."
Aoyama, who plays the role of Reggie Star, a magician from the past who has been resurrected in flesh, commented, "When I was in elementary school, I found a straw doll nailed to a five-inch nail in the dark forest deep inside a shrine. I timidly touched the nail and felt a piercing grudge. That may have been the first time I came into contact with 'magic.' I put the grudge of that someone that was living inside me into the embodiment of Reggie Star. I hope that magic is present in my clumsy voice. And I hope that everyone will fear, enjoy, and love Reggie."
Neeko, who plays Kogane, a shikigami that is paired with each swimmer in the Culling Game and acts as a liaison between the swimmers and the Culling Game, commented, "Ringong ringong ringong ringong ringon! Hey, I'm Kogane! I'm Neeko, and I play Kogane. While I'm soothed by Kogane's cute form, I also do my best to make announcements from the Culling Game and act as a liaison between the swimmers and the Culling Game's swimmers. As Kogane is attached to a swimmer, it's one of Neeko's secret pleasures to be able to experience all kinds of battles right before my eyes during the dubbing of the episodes in which she appears. The Culling Game is finally about to begin. Once you step inside, you're a swimmer too! But will you still enter the barrier?"
It was also announced that rock band King Gnu will be performing the opening theme song for the third season, "AIZO." This will be King Gnu's third time performing the theme song for the series, following "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" and "Shibuya Incident" for the second season of the anime. A promotional video was released, showcasing the song. It was also announced that the first episode of the third season will be broadcast as a one-hour special. Episodes 1 and 2 will be broadcast in one go.
An "anoter ver." of the teaser visual for the third season has been released, adding characters engaged in a fierce battle in the Culling Game.
It was also announced that the total number of copies of the "Jujutsu Kaisen" series worldwide has exceeded 150 million. The first volume of the spin-off manga "Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Jump," will be released on January 5, 2026.
"Jujutsu Kaisen" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from March 2018 to September 2024. The story follows high school student Yuji Itadori, who is thrown into a world of battles over curses after a powerful "cursed object" is unsealed.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the second season, "Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu/ Shibuya Incident," aired from July to December 2023. The third season, "Culling Game Part 1," will be broadcast nationwide simultaneously on the MBS/TBS anime block "Super Animeism TURBO" every Thursday at 12:26 a.m. starting January 8, 2026.
